Dusky - Lost Highway/Three Colours/Someone Like You [Anjunadeep]

Dusky - Lost Highway/Three Colours/Someone Like You [Anjunadeep]

Since the release of their debut album "Stick By This", Dusky aka Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman have emerged as the bright hopes of the UK house scene. Jamie Jones opened his DC10 closing party set with their track "Tyto Alba", Pete Tong has been caning their album tracks, while eclectic tastemakers like Bestival's Rob Da Bank and Zane Lowe have also been giving them mainstream radio support.
Having already been played as an Essential New Tune contender on Pete Tong's Radio 1 show, "Lost Highway" is a deep house classic in the making from the duo. With a deep, driving groove, sublime subtle melodies and a soaring, string-laden breakdown that rides atop trademark cut-up vocal samples, "Lost Highway" recently featured on DJ Magazine's Best Of British cover mount CD and will also be showcased on the forthcoming "Anjunadeep:04" compilation.
Veering towards a more bass-driven deep house sound, "Three Colours" weaves another deeply layered journey from washing melodic touches, trademark soulful vocal samples and chimes.
On a package that is all about groove and musicality, "Someone Like You" is the perfect closer. Bringing down the tempo, this soulful slow-mo house jam is full of hypnotic depth and has echoes of Jamie Woon in its subtle male vocal.
Also included is Hugga Thugg's deep house rework of "Lost In You" - winner of the recent remix competition.
